Theme: Asian Providers and South-South Cooperation


Rationale:

South-South Cooperation becomes an important scheme in supporting and strengthening the development cooperation, particularly among developing countries recently. It is a forum working under the principles of solidarity, non-conditionality, inclusive, mutual benefits and opportunities, as well as non-interference. The activities conducted by South-South Cooperation include information sharing knowledge and experiences exchanging, and science-technology cooperation among Southern countries. Asian Providers including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand have joined the South-South Cooperation with the aim to strengthen their relations with other developing partners. Therefore, it is interesting to examine the development and progress of this scheme as well as the engagement of those countries for further understanding and cooperation in the future.

Objectives

  1. To provide a space for discussion between policy makers and scholars of Asian Providers
  2. To enhance the body of knowledge on South-South Cooperation, Asian Providers and Development Cooperation
  3. To strengthen the network of scholars, policy makers and practitioners in Asian Providers
